Struggling Tars Look To Slow Down #8 NSU Wednesday.

The Rollins Tars and eighth ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks will battle at the Don Taft University Center on Wednesday night. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM. You can catch the action on RollinsSports.com
 The struggling Tars (9-12 3-10 SSC) have lost four straight and eight of the past nine. Last time out was a 79-73 road loss at Embry-Riddle. Coming into Wednesday's game in Fort Lauderdale the Tars are 2-4 in true road games on the season. Hutton Yenor was one of just two Rollins players in double figures with 22 points in the last game- while Connor McKim added 15. Rollins shot 46 percent as a team- 36 percent (8-22) from the 3-point line- and- 92 percent (11-12) at the free throw line. They had 14 assists and eight turnovers as a team.
 On the season Rollins scores 75.9 points a game on offense- while they allow 73.1 on the defensive end. Jakobi Bonner is the teams leading scorer putting up 14.7 points per night- Connor McKim scores 14 a game- and- Yenor comes off the bench to net 12.7 per contest. The Tars have been solid at the free throw line where they have shot at a 72 percent clip.
 In the first meeting with NSU in Winter Park the Tars lost 92-65 on January 2nd. Eric Castaneda (13 points-) and- McKim with 11 were the only Rollins players in double figures. They shot 46 percent as a team that day- 33 percent (8-24) from the 3-point line. The Tars were also three for nine at the free throw line in that contest. They had 12 assists and 19 turnovers.
 NSU (17-2 11-2 SSC) is coming off a 87-82 loss to Florida Southern in Lakeland on Saturday. The Sharks only other loss came to Eckerd in overtime in January.
 Dwayne Gibson poured in a game high 30 points to lead NSU in the losing effort last time out- Mark Matthews added 21- and- Nick Smith tallied 15.  The Sharks shot 42 percent as a team- 40 percent (10-25) from the 3-point line- and- 48 percent (10-21) from the free throw line. The Sharks had 10 assists and 10 turnovers in the defeat.
 In the first meeting with the Tars David Dennis led the way with 24 points- Eddie Puisis had 17- Connor Zinaich added 15- Mikkel Kolstad chipped in 11- and- Matthews netted 10. The Sharks shot 59 percent in that one- 47 percent (16-34) from the 3-point line- and- 75 percent (6-8) at the free throw line. The Sharks had 30 assists and 21 turnovers in the contest.
