The Tars (9-15 3-13 SSC) have lost seven straight- the most recent being a 95-88 set back at home against Tampa Wednesday. Eric Castaneda paced the Tars with 24 points in the contest- Connor McKIm added 18 and six assists- Jakobi Bonner netted 14- Trevor Recio had 11 of his own- while Hutton Yenor contributed 10 off the bench. Rollins shot 46 percent in the contest- 37 percent (14-38) from the 3-point line- and- shot at a 84 percent clip (16-19) at the free throw line. They had 18 assists and 11 turnovers in the contest.
In the first meeting with Barry Rollins was a 71-60 loser at home on 1/5. Bonner had 21- and- Yenor netted 18 off the bench in the loss. The Tars shot 38 percent as a team- 32 percent (7-22) from the 3-point line- and- 44 percent (7-16) from the free throw line. They had 12 assists and 16 turnovers as a team.
The Tars average 75.8 ppg as a team- while they give up 77.5 a night. Bonner leads the team in scoring at 14.7 per night. He is one of three players averaging double figures on the season. Yenor has come on strong of late and is putting up 12.8 per game- while McKim scores 13.4 a night.
Barry (13-9 8-7 SSC) is coming off a 78-66 loss at Eckerd on Wednesday. Daniel Mortensen (15 points-) and- Isaiah Hobbs (11) were the only players in double figures in the loss. They shot 36 percent as a team- 14 percent (4-29) from the 3-point line- and- 78 percent (14-18) at the free throw line.
In the first meeting with the Tars in January Mortensen had 23- Tylan Birts scored 16- and- Evan Walshe added 14. They shot 42 percent as a team- 31 percent (10-32) from the 3-point line- and- 64 percent (9-14) from the free throw line. They average 77.4 points a game on offense- while they give up 73.4 per night.
Mortensen is the leading scorer at 13.7 per games he is shooting 41 percent from the 3-point line- Birts is the only other player in double figures averaging 11.9 per contest. Walshe is scoring 9.9 per game.
