The Rollins Tars have won five straight, as Saturday they came from 17 points down to knock off Saint Leo 82-74 on senior day. With the win the Tars are now 18-10 and 12-6 in the SSC. They will be the #3 seed in the upcoming SSC Tournament. Saint Leo sees its season come to an end at 12-16 and 6-12 in the SSC.
Sam Philpott led four Tars in double figures with 18 points- Jeff Merton scored 16- Eric Castaneda provided 14 off the bench- while Joey Galvis was outstanding in his final regular season home game. Galvis had 10 points- five assists- five rebounds- and- added four steals to his SSC leading total.
The Tars shot 41 percent as a team- 39 percent (7-18) from the 3-point line- and went 21-30 (70 percent) from the free throw line.  Rollins won the rebounding battle 39-34. They had 15 assists and 12 turnovers.
Marcus Dewberry poured in a game high 37 points to lead the Lions.  Justin Satchell was the only other Saint Leo player in double figures with 21- Satchell also added six rebounds. Tyreece Brice scored eight points and dished out a team high nine assists. The Lions shot 47 percent from the floor- 39 percent (13-33) from the 3-point line and were a perfect seven of seven from the free throw line.  They had 16 assists and 19 turnovers.
Neither team got off to a good start offensively but the Tars would get back to back 3-pointer's from Merton and Galvis to lead by nine (12-3) after the first media timeout.  The lions would fight back and take a four point lead (21-17) after a pair of Satchell 3-pointer's.  The Lions would extend the lead to 13 (45-32) at the intermission.
The Lions would lead by 17 with 18:36 to go when the Tars began their comeback.  After Connor Mckim hit a 3-pointer to get Rollins within one- it was fitting that it would be senior Jack Fleming who gave the Tars the lead (64-62)they would not relinquish on senior day. They would never look back and secure the victory.
