Tars Travel To St.Pete Saturday.

The Rollins College Tars (13-9 7-5 SSC) travel to Saint Petersburg to battle the Tritons of Eckerd College (15-6 8-4 SSC) at the McArthur Center Saturday.   Rollins comes into Saturday winners of five of the last six. The last time out the Tars five game win streak was halted by SSC provisional member Embry-Riddle 97-78. Jakobi Bonner set a new career high with 20 points in the defeat. The Tars are still tied for third place in the SSC with Tampa at 7-5 in the conference, one game behind Eckerd for second place and three games behind front-running Barry.
  Sam Philpott leads the Tars in scoring at 15.2 points per game and is also one of the team's top rebounders at 4.3 a contest.  Jeff Merton is second on the team in scoring at 14.5 points a night and leads the team averaging 5.7 rebounds a contest.  Connor McKim (10.3 per game-) and Joey Galvis (10 per night) also are averaging double figures. McKim leads the team in assists at 3.4 per contest- while Galvis leads the SSC and is 16th in all of DII with 47 steals. The Tars average 80.4 points a game- and- allow 80.3 per night.  The Tars fell to Eckerd 82-73 in the first meeting back in Winter Park.
  Eckerd is coming off a 92-87 victory over Florida Tech on Wednesday night. The Tritons are led by Drushaun McLaurn who is averaging 16.2 points per contest (sixth in the SSC-) McLaurn has scored in double figures in 19 of the 21 Eckerd games.  Kevin Walsh has been lethal from the 3-point line. He leads the SSC shooting 48 percent from the 3-point line- and- averages 13.9 points a night. Trevon Young scores 12 points a night and grabs 6.7 rebounds a night- while- Obi Kyei leads the Tritons averaging eight rebounds per contest.  Eckerd scores 82.1 points a game- while they give up 74.7 a night.  The Tritons out rebound the opponent by 8.6 rebounds a contest.
