Riding a five game win streak, the longest in the SSC Rollins hosts Lynn on Saturday afternoon at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. The Tars with the recent win steak are now in a tie atop the conference standings at 9-3. Lynn comes in 7-5 in the SSC on the season. The Tars are undefeated in conference play at home this season, and have won 11 straight conference home games dating back to last season. The Tars were a 89-66 winner against Florida Tech in Melbourne on Wednesday. Sam Philpott scored 24 points, while Jeff Merton added 21. Eric Castaneda was also in double figures with 10. The Tars shot 52 percent from the field. They are ninth in the country and lead the SSC shooting 51 percent from the field on the year. Philpott leads the Tars averaging 21.2 points per game- Merton is not far behind at 15 points a game and averages 4.2 rebounds a contest. Castaneda (11.6 ppg-) McKim (11.4 ppg-) and- Deion Clark (11.2 ppg) also score in double figures. McKim leads the team in assists. The Tars put up 85.3 points a night- while they give up 81.3 a contest.
The Fighting Knights come into Saturday fourth in the SSC. The Fighting Knights won 90-86 in overtime over Nova Southeastern on Wednesday night. Ryan Peterson scored 17 to lead the Fighting Knights- while Jamal Palmer scored 16. Palmer scores 14.4 points and gets 3.6 rebounds a game. Brandon Bornelus scores 11.6 a contest- while Peterson nets 11.1 a night. Rasheed Worrell averages a team leading 6.9 rebounds per night. Lynn scores 76.1 points per game- while they allow 74.3 per contest.
