The Rollins Tars losers of three straight head to West Palm Beach to take the Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic at Rubin Arena Wednesday night. You can catch all the action on RollinsSports.com. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM.
Rollins (8-6 4-2 SSC) looks to snap a three game losing slide on Wednesday. After a pair of losses in Las Vegas to Midwestern State and West Texas A&M, the Tars were a 95-81 loser to Eckerd on Saturday. The Tars sit in third place in the SSC, behind Barry and Eckerd. Sam Philpott scored 18 points in the loss to the 24th ranked Eckerd Tritons- Jack Fleming knocked down five 3-pointer's on his way to 16- and- Jeff Merton added 15.
Philpott leads the Tars in scoring and is fifth in the SSC putting up 20.6 points a game. He adds four rebounds a contest as well. Merton is second on the team putting up 14.8 points per night- while Deion Clark adds 13.1 points and leads the team with 4.7 rebounds a contest. Eric Castaneda nets 12.9 points per night- while Connor McKim scores 10.6 per contest. Rollins is scoring 84.6 points per game- and- allows 81.9 points per night. The Tars lost three in a row last December and lost one more before winning 17 of 21 and making a trip to the Elite Eight.
PBA (9-8 3-3 SSC) was a 93-79 winner last time out versus Florida Tech. Jules Jasmin scores 27 points to lead the Sailfish in that victory. Marshall Riddle netted 14- and- De'Ondre Jackson scored 12 in the victory.
Jackson is the leading scorer for PBA at 13.5 points a game. Jasmine is scoring 12.2 a night as well. grant Gullett is scoring 11.3 points per game- and- Bakari Warthen (10.1 ppg) also is scoring in double figures. The Sailfish score 82.1 points per contest- while they give up 77.1 points a night.
The Tars took all three meetings from PBA last season. It was a 59-47 win by Rollins on 1/7 in Winter Park. On 1/28 they were a 80-72 winner in West Palm. Then of course in the third meeting Rollins rallied for a 71-70 winner in the SSC Championship game in Daytona Beach on March 5th.
