Tars Gain Share Of First Place In SSC Saturday.

The Rollins Tars were a 94-82 winner over #19 Barry Saturday at Warden Arena. The victory was the fourth straight for the Tars and put them in a three way tie atop the league with Eckerd and Barry. With the win the Tars are now 12-7 and 8-3in the SSC. While Barry fell to 12-4 and 8-3 with the loss.
  Sam Philpott led five Rollins players in double figures with 23 points. Connor McKim added 17- Jeff Merton tallied 16- Jack Fleming contributed 12 off the bench- while Eric Castaneda scored 10. The Tars shot 56 percent in the game- 46 percent (11-24) from the 3-point line- and- 72 percent (21-29) at the free throw line.  The Tars had 22 assists and 11 turnovers in the game.
  The Bucs also had five players score in double figures. Johannesd Dolven scored a game high 31 points to lead the way in the losing effort. Sunday Deck- Cooper Glick- and- Kenan Guzonjic each had 11- while Marko Tomic scored 10. Barry shot 41 percent as a team- 23 percent (10-44) from the 3-point line- and- 83 percent (10-13) from the free throw line. Barry won the rebounding battle 40-35. They had 16 assists and 11 turnovers.
  The Tars led wire to wire in this one. Rollins got off to a quick 17-7 lead after a pair of 3-ball's by McKim and then a Philpott 3-pointer at the 14:55 mark. Barry got it down to a one point game midway thru the opening half and Rollins would go on a big run to go up 15 (41-26) with 3:46 left in the half. Rollins took a 46-32 halftime lead into the locker room.
  The Tars had a double digit lead until Barry got it down to 73-64 after a Glick 3-pointer at the 5:18 mark. Fleming drilled a three of his own for Rollins and the Tars would cruise to victory from that point on.
  Rollins will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Florida Tech to battle the Panthers. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM.
