The Rollins College Tars (15-4 7-1 SSC) look to continue their winning ways Saturday at the Don Taft University Center. The Tars fresh off a 71-53 pasting of Lynn Wednesday will look to stay in sole possession of first place in the SSC. The Tars used a 24-0 run over a span of 8:21 to coast to the victory.
Nick Wolf will look to continue his stellar season at Nova Saturday afternoon for the Tars. The Senior from Cincinnati leads three players in double figures. Wolf, averages 20.4 points a game (second in the conference) and leads the SSC with 10.2 boards a contest. Myk Brown nets 14.6 points a game and Matt Robertson chips in 14.5. The Tars as a team average 78 points per game while giving up 69.8. They have struggled this season away from Warden Arena.
The Sharks come in at 11-7 overall and 4-4 in the SSC. They have a modest two game losing skid. The Sharks are coming off a tough 85-81 loss to Tampa Saturday. The previous game was a OT loss to Florida Southern. Like Rollins the Sharks have protected their home floor this season. Nova is 9-2 at the "Shark Tank" on the season. They score 84 points a game on the season. They give up 78.0 to the opposition. The Sharks are solid from three point land. They hit 43% of their three point attempts. The Sharks have three players that average double figures on the season. Alex Gynes pours in 18.5 points and 7.8 rebounds to lead the Sharks. John Brooks posts 13.3 points a contest while Rob Hunnington chips in 12 points a night.
Rollins won the first meeting at Warden Arena back on November 17th 78-66. Matt Robertson (19 points), Alex Castillo (13) and Nick Wolf (12) led the Tars in the first meeting.
Max Papendick (25 points) and Lukas Roesch (10 points) led the Sharks in the meeting in Winter Park. The Tars lead the all time series 24-5.
