Panthers Dump Tars on Senior Day.

The Florida Tech Panthers 19-5 (11-4 SSC) used a big second half to complete a season sweep of Rollins on Senior day at Warden Arena. The win coupled with Eckerd's two point loss to Barry earlier in the day gave the Panthers first place in the SSC. After trailing by six at the half, the Panthers dominated the second half to get the 71-56 win. Simon Cummings had a big game with 20 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Julius Reed added 16 points and Derek Helleman had 13 for FIT.
The Tars fell to 15-9 on the year and 8-6 in the SSC. Myk Brown led the Tars with 17 points. Chris Malcolm continued his recent surge with 12 points and five blocks. Malcolm passed Craig Reichel for the all time leader in Tar history in blocked shots. The Tars shot 37 percent for the game including only 22 percent in the second half. FIT shot 41 percent from the field in the game. FIT won the rebounding battle 36-29. The Tars had 11 turnovers to seven for the Panthers.
The Tars will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Miami to take on Barry. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM and you can catch all the action on RollinsSports.com
