Carter's Huge Night Lifts Panthers Past Rollins.

Chris Carter scored recorded a triple-double (11 points- 10 rebounds- and- 10 assists) as the Florida Tech Panthers rallied from seven points down in the last six minutes to knock off the Rollins Tars 69-65 at the Clemente Center Wednesday night.
Corbin Jackson also had a double- double (15 points- and- 13 rebounds) while Caleb Wigginton added 15 for Florida Tech (11-6 1-5 SSC.)
The Panthers shot 42 percent from the field- went 9- of- 31 from the 3-point line- and- shot at a 75 percent clip (6 of 8) at the free throw line.  The Panthers won the rebounding battle 38-34.  They also had twice as many assists (22) as turnovers (10.)
For Rollins (7-10 0-6 SSC) it was more of the same from the last four contests.  Coming close but not being able to pull it out at the end.  They were led by four players in double figures.  Alex Blessig had a solid all-around game.  The junior had 17 points- eight rebounds- and- seven assists.  Jeff Merton continued his solid season thus far with 13- Chris Uhle netted 12 points and hauled in seven rebounds- while Jeff Dirkin contributed 11 in a losing effort.
The Tars shot 45 percent from the field in the game- they were 9-26 from the 3-point line- and- shot at a 67 percent clip (4-6) at the foul line.  Rollins had 16 assists and turned it over 12 times.
The Tars would control the early part of the game.  It would not take long for the Panthers to fight back though and take a nine point lead (26-17) at the 8 minute mark of the opening half.  The Tars then would go on a 8-0 spurt led by Jeff Merton to cut the deficit to one (26-25) at the four minute mark of the opening stanza.  The Tars would ultimately take a two point lead (35-33) into the locker room.
The second half would see the Tars stretch the lead.  The Tars would lead by nine (51-42) after a pair of Uhle 3-pointer's.  The lead would grow to as many as 11. That wouldn't last long though as the Panthers would go on a big run to cut the Tars deficit to one (56-55) at the 7:18 mark.
A 3-pointer by Blessig and a traditional three point play by Dirkin would stretch the Tars lead to seven (62-55.)  The Panthers would close the game on a 14-3 run and get what would be their  first conference win of the season.
