Uhle's Career Day Not Enough For Tars.

Chris Uhle poured in a career high 23 points and the Rollins Tars led the eighth ranked Barry Buccaneers for 30 minutes before letting one slip away 73-64 Wednesday at Warden Arena.
Other than Uhle who had 23 points behind five 3-pointer's- the Tars got 12 points off the bench from  Jeff Merton.  Scott Schuette and Sharif Almulla added eight points each in the loss for the Tars (7-6 0-2 SSC.)  The Tars shot 54 percent for the game.  They went 12-25 from the 3-point line.  The Tars really hurt themselves at the foul line (2-8) and with 20 turnovers that cost them 25 points. They also were -15 (33-18) on the boards.
Barry was led by Yunio Barruetta who scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half.  Deric Hill tallied 17 points and dished out eight assists. (all 17 points were in the second half.)  Barry shot 48 percent from the floor and went 8-22 from the 3-point line.  Barry shot a solid 86 percent (19-22) at the foul line.  They had 19 assists and 18 turnovers.
The Tars jumped out quickly behind a pair of Schuette 3-pointer's.  After a Uhle tip in the Tars led 13-4 at the 16:40 mark of the opening half.  Barry would cut the lead to three (18-15) before a 7-2 Tars push would stretch it back out to eight (25-17.)  Rollins would take a nine point lead (36-27) after a James Ferrell 3-pointer at the 2:04 mark of the opening half.  They would have a few chances to stretch the lead to double digits but the lead would be nine (36-27) at the half.
Uhle would bury another three to open the second half and give the Tars a 12 point lead but that would quickly disappear. Barry would come back and knot the game at 44.  Uhle and Barruetta would trade 3-pointer's before a quick four point spurt gave Rollins a brief 51-47 lead.  Barry would then crank up the defensive pressure and the Tars would have all kinds of trouble breaking it.  The end result was a 11-0 run that gave Barry a seven point lead (58-51) at the 7:27 mark.  The Tars would pull to within tow (58-56) after splitting four free throws.  Jeff Dirkin split a pair at the 6:22 mark.  This after Alex Blessig split a pair for his only point of the game seconds earlier.  The Tars would go scoreless after the next three plus minutes and the Bucs would go on another 11-0 run to lead by 11(69-58.)  The Tars would get to within 10 late but would get no closer until a late Almulla 3-pointer would account for the final score.
