Tars Host Lynn in Pivotal SSC Matchup

It is that time of year in college basketball. If not an absolute must win game for Rollins College when they host the Lynn Fighting Knights it is pretty darn close. The Tars are tied with the Fighting Knights in the standings and Florida Tech is nipping at both of their heels as the top eight teams in the SSC qualify for the upcoming tournament.

 The Tars are coming off a 84-79 loss to Barry last time out. Jokobi Bonner led the way with 19 points for the short handed Tars. Connor McKim added 17- Parker Davis scored 14 off the bench- and- Dayton Gumm tallied 11 in the loss- whole Brooks Cluxton had a team leading eight rebounds. Rollins shot 41 percent from the floor- 36 percent (12-33) from the 3-point line- and- 77 percent (17-22) from the free throw line. They had 16 assists- and- 11 turnovers as a team.
 The Tars have struggled at home where they are just 4-8 on the season. They average 76.2 points per game- while they allow 75.1 per night. Bonner leads the team in scoring at 17.6 points per game- Hutton Yenor adds 12.9 per night- while McKim (10.9 per game-) and- Gumm (10.4 ppg) also average double figures. McKim leads the team in assists at 3.4 per night- while Trevor Recio leads the team in rebounds at 7.7 per contest.
 Lynn comes in with a 10-12 overall record and an identical 6-10 record in the SSC. The Fighting Knights are coming off a 80-78 win over Eckerd last time out. Jordan Allen led three Lynn players in double figures with 18 points- Cameron Gaines added 17- and- Christian Peevy netted 13. They shot 53 percent from the floor- 48 percent (14-29) from the 3-point line- and- 57 percent (4-7)from the free throw line. They had 16 assists and- 16 turnovers as a team. Offensively they score 83.5 points per game- while on the defensive end they give up 85 points per night. That number on the defensive end has risen to 89.1 points allowed per night in conference play.
 Allen paces the Fighting Knights in scoring at 18.1 points per night- Peevy gets 18 per contest- Brandon Bornelus scores 12 per game- while Branden Ellis nets 10 points per game. Bornelus leads the team in assists at 3.6 per game- while Gaines leads the team on the glass averaging 7.3 rebounds per night.
