Tars Travel To Melbourne Wednesday.

The Rollins Tars travel to Melbourne to battle the Florida Tech Panthers in Sunshine State action on Wednesday. The game is slated to tip at 7:30 PM from the Clemente Center.
 Rollins (13-13 7-11 SSC) comes into the contest seventh in the Sunshine State Conference. The top eight teams in the conference qualify for the SSC Tournament. The Tars are coming off a 89-86 overtime loss in the home finale on Saturday. Jakobi Bonner scored 21 points in his final game at Warden Arena- Kyle Marion added 19- Connor Mckim scored 14 in his final home game as a Tar- and- Trevor Recio added 12. Brooks Cluxton also had a solid game scoring nine points and grabbing 10 rebounds in a losing effort. Rollins shot 49 percent as a team- 32 percent (8-25) from the 3-point line- and- 73 percent (22-30) at the free throw line. Rollins won the rebounding battle 38-36. They had 18 assists- and- 11 turnovers in the contest. Rollins was a 87-67 winner over the Panthers in the first meeting about a month ago in Winter Park. As a team the Tars score 77.1 points a game on offense- but a trademark of Tom Klusman's teams has always been the zone defense that the team plays and this season is no different as Rollins is giving up just 75.5 points per night. The Tars have been better on the road where they are 5-4 in true road games than have been at home where they went 5-9 in Warden Arena on the season.  The Tars also went 3-0 in neutral games this year.
 Bonner leads the team in scoring at 18.0 points per game- while Hutton Yenor gets 12.9 per night. Mckim leads the team in assists at 3.4 per game to go with his 10.9 points per night. Dayton Gumm also averages in double figures at 10.8 points per game. Recio leads the team in rebounding at 7.5 rebounds per contest- while Cluxton averages 6.7 rebounds night. Marion also contributes nine points per contest.
 Florida Tech (11-6 5-14 SSC) has not won a conference game away from the Clemente Center this season. Last time out they were a 95-81 loser to Nova Southeastern at the Clemente Center on Saturday. Seasan Russell led the way with 28 points in the defeat- while both Derek Murphy and Jalen Hodges notched 16- Runako Ziegler chipped in 14 of his own. FIT shot 51 percent as a team- 41 percent (5-12) from the 3-point line- and- 80 percent (20-25) from the free throw line. They had 10 assists- and- 12 turnovers in the contest.  The Panthers score 80 points per game- while they allow 81 per night.
 Murphy leads the season box score pouring in 20.2 points per game- to go with a team leading eight rebounds per contest. Russell puts up 18.5 per night- and- dishes out a team leading 2.6 assists per contest. Ziegler also scores in double figures at 11.8 per night.
